The National Symbols Act defines the official composition and meaning of the Fitzland flag. The flag consists of a horizontal bicolor of blue and white, with blue symbolizing liberty and freedom, while white represents purity and harmony. In the upper left corner, a golden emblem of five stars arranged in a pentagon embodies the nation's core values. Each star represents one of Fitzland’s five regions and collectively symbolizes democracy, peace, progress, justice, and equality. The pentagonal formation of the stars represents the nation’s capital, serving as a symbol of strength and unity that binds the entire country together.
The flag shall be displayed from sunrise to sunset on all government buildings, schools, and public institutions. If displayed at night, the flag must be properly illuminated.
The flag shall be flown at half-mast as a sign of mourning on designated days or upon the announcement of a national tragedy or the death of prominent national figures.
When displayed vertically, the top of the flag should be to the left of the observer, and the symbols should appear in their usual position.
The flag must be treated with respect and dignity at all times. It shall not touch the ground, be stepped on, or be used for any purpose other than its intended one.
The flag should be raised briskly and lowered ceremoniously.
When not in use, the flag should be properly folded and stored in a manner that prevents damage or soiling.
The flag shall not be used for commercial purposes or advertising. The flag shall not be draped over vehicles, except when used in official ceremonies. No part of the flag should be used as a costume, uniform, or apparel, except for authorized representations.
The flag shall be prominently displayed on the following national holidays and observances (such as National Day, National Heroes Day).
Any intentional disrespect or misuse of the flag shall be considered a punishable offense under national law. Penalties may include fines or imprisonment.
Educational programs shall be conducted in schools to teach the significance and proper handling of the flag. Public awareness campaigns shall be conducted to promote the respectful display and use of the flag.
