Map of RODE Airport
RODE Airport, also known as Rodolfo–Emilia Airport, stands as the primary international gateway of Fitzland and one of the most significant aviation hubs in the Asia-Pacific region. The airport was renamed in honor of former Prime Minister Rodolfo Lockhart and his wife Emilia, as a tribute by the citizens of Fitzland to their contributions to the nation’s modernization and independence. Prior to its renaming, the airport was originally known as Fitzland International Airport upon its completion in 1993 during the administration of Prime Minister Rodolfo Lockhart.
Strategically located within RODE Park, Fitzland’s vast national park and protected forest reserve, the airport sits just 5 kilometers west of Downtown Core in Fitzland City, the nation’s capital. Its unique setting combines advanced aviation infrastructure with surrounding natural landscapes, creating one of the most distinctive airport environments in the region. As of 2025, RODE Airport ranks among the top 20 busiest airports in the world by passenger traffic, reflecting Fitzland’s growing importance in international travel, commerce, and tourism.
Beyond its role as a transportation hub, RODE Airport holds deep historical significance in Fitzland’s national identity. During the coup d’état against the Villafuerte administration, the airport became a critical escape route for Rodolfo Lockhart, his family, and key allies as political instability threatened the future of the nation. Historical accounts describe how emergency evacuation operations conducted through the airport enabled the continuation of the independence movement abroad, eventually paving the way for the establishment of the modern Republic of Fitzland. Many historians regard RODE Airport not only as an infrastructure landmark, but also as a symbol of survival, resistance, and the birth of the nation itself.
RODE Airport serves as the headquarters and primary hub for Fitz Airlines, the national flag carrier of Fitzland, along with Fitz Airlines Cargo and flinx, the airline’s low-cost subsidiary. It also functions as a regional hub for Scoot, strengthening air connectivity between Fitzland and neighboring countries. Beyond commercial aviation, the airport is home to Fitz Tech, a major aviation engineering and aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company specializing in advanced aerospace technologies and aircraft servicing operations.
The airport also shares its facilities with the Republic of Fitzland Air Force, supporting both civilian and military aviation operations within a highly coordinated airspace environment. Despite its massive passenger and cargo capacity, RODE Airport currently operates with a single 4-kilometer runway engineered to accommodate large-scale international traffic, cargo logistics, and military aircraft movements efficiently. Supported by advanced aviation systems, integrated transport connections, and world-class passenger facilities, RODE Airport continues to serve as one of Fitzland’s most important national infrastructures and a symbol of the country’s global connectivity and resilience.
RODE Airport currently operates five major terminals, each designed to support specific aviation and operational functions within the airport ecosystem. Terminal 1 and 2 handles international airlines and long-haul carriers, serving as the airport’s main global passenger gateway with advanced immigration, customs, and transit facilities.
Terminal 3 is dedicated mainly to flinx, Fitzland’s low-cost carrier, while also supporting other budget and regional airlines whenever operational demand requires additional capacity from the other terminals. Designed for high passenger throughput and quick turnaround operations, the terminal focuses on affordability, efficiency, and seamless regional connectivity. Meanwhile, Terminal 4 serves as the airport’s primary cargo and logistics hub, handling freight operations, international cargo transfers, and aviation warehousing activities essential to Fitzland’s trade and supply chain network.
Separate from civilian operations, Terminal 5 is operated exclusively by the Republic of Fitzland Air Force, supporting military aviation, strategic air operations, defense logistics, and joint government activities. The terminal forms part of the airport’s dual civilian-military infrastructure system, allowing coordinated operations between commercial and defense aviation sectors while maintaining national security readiness.

RODE Airport's terminal 1
As RODE Airport exclusively handles international passenger traffic, all operational terminals are fully equipped with immigration-processing facilities, customs checkpoints, international security screening systems, and advanced border control technologies to support global travel operations efficiently. The airport is managed by the RODE Airport Group, the primary authority responsible for airport administration, passenger services, infrastructure development, logistics coordination, and aviation operations across the airport complex.
Overall airport security is overseen by the Airport Security Division (ASD), a specialized agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs tasked with safeguarding airport operations, passenger safety, border security, and critical aviation infrastructure. Working closely with immigration authorities, intelligence agencies, and the Republic of Fitzland Air Force, the ASD maintains strict security protocols and rapid response capabilities to ensure RODE Airport remains one of the safest and most secure aviation hubs in the region.
RODE Airport is supported by a highly integrated transportation network designed to provide fast and seamless connectivity between the airport and the rest of Fitzland. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are interconnected by the dedicated RODE-Train service, an automated airport rail system that allows passengers to move efficiently between terminals, transit areas, and airport facilities.
The airport is also directly served by the Fitzland Metropolitan Rapid Transit (FMRT) network, providing convenient rail access to Fitzland City, major business districts, and regional transport hubs across the country. Complementing the rail system are public bus services operated by Fitz Bus Inc., offering environmentally friendly electric bus routes connecting the airport to cities, neighborhoods, hotels, and regional terminals throughout Fitzland.
